Empowering Lives Through Compassionate Connected Support Services

About Us
Supporting life, connection and well-being
At Active Support ACT, we provide person-centred disability support services across the ACT, guided by a strong belief in respect, reliability, and genuine human connection. We exist to deliver high-quality support that treats every person, clients, employees, and leaders alike, as human beings first.
Our mission is to place clients at the centre of all decision-making, ensuring they feel truly heard, seen, and valued while receiving the highest level of care. We are committed to supporting people to actively participate in life, build meaningful connections, and live with dignity, purpose, and choice.
Our vision is to be a trusted ACT disability support provider known for reliability, accountability, and continuity of care. We prioritise consistent support relationships, recognising that trust is built through familiarity and dependable, interchangeable support workers who understand each individual’s needs and goals.
We are equally committed to the people who deliver our services. Through a transformational leadership approach, we create a workplace where ACT-based disability support workers feel respected, fairly paid, secure in their roles, and genuinely valued. We believe that when employees feel supported and empowered, they are able to provide the consistent, high-quality care our clients deserve.
Active Support ACT is deeply connected to our community. We support holistic wellbeing by encouraging connection to green spaces, land, and nature, recognising the powerful relationship between environment, identity, and quality of life. By strengthening both individuals and the teams who support them, we aim to create a positive, lasting impact across the ACT disability community.

Our Story
Active Support ACT was founded in 2024 from a simple but deeply held belief: that the right support can change the course of a person’s life, and that everyone deserves to feel respected, valued, and genuinely cared for.
We exist to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people living with disability across the ACT, as well as the staff who walk alongside them each day. We saw the impact that thoughtful, reliable, and person-centred disability support can have, not just on individuals, but on families, workplaces, and the wider community, and we knew we wanted to be part of that change.
At the heart of everything we do is listening. We take the time to understand each person’s story, their goals, and what truly matters to them. Our mission is to ensure every client feels heard, seen, and valued, and supported to live an active, connected life with dignity, purpose, and choice.
Our approach to disability support in the ACT is holistic and relationship-driven. We believe wellbeing is about more than services, it’s about connection, community, creativity, and a meaningful relationship with the world around us, including connection to nature. By working in partnership with families and allied health professionals, we support outcomes that are not only practical, but deeply personal.
Equally important is how we support our team. Active Support ACT was built on the understanding that great care begins with people who feel respected and supported themselves. By empowering our ACT-based disability support workers, we create consistency, trust, and care that clients can rely on.
Today, we are proud to be a growing ACT disability support provider, committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate support that strengthens lives, builds confidence, and creates lasting positive change, one person, one relationship, and one moment at a time.
Meet The Team
I am a disability support professional based in Canberra, ACT, with over ten years’ experience supporting people with disability to live empowered, meaningful lives. I began my career in the disability sector in 2012 as a Disability Employment Specialist, supporting people to find and sustain employment in the open labour market. This experience shaped my strong belief in inclusion, capability, and the importance of being valued for who you are. I hold a Certificate III in Disability and am currently completing a Bachelor of Social Work, with graduation expected in 2027. I maintain a current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Vulnerable People Check, and I am committed to safe, ethical, and person-centred practice. Over time, my work has evolved from hands-on support into leadership, mentoring, and staff development. I support disability support workers to build the skills, confidence, and values needed to deliver high-quality, respectful support. I believe great disability support goes beyond tasks, it is about trust, connection, dignity, and genuine understanding. At the centre of my practice is a commitment to choice, respect, and two-way relationships between clients and support staff. I am passionate about supporting people with disability to live lives that are not only safe, but enjoyable, fulfilling, and aligned with what matters most to them. I am known for being warm, calm, approachable, and reliable. I bring empathy and consistency to my work and value creating environments where people feel supported, heard, and respected. Outside of work, I enjoy the outdoors, camping, and spending time with animals. I am also a working mother of two, which has strengthened my understanding of balance, patience, and the importance of dependable, compassionate support.
